I used GE Silicone 1 (in the blue tube) to reseal my 90. It sealed great and has been holding strong for months now.

I highly recommend it.

Up here in Canada, we have several house brands, such as the one from Home Hardware mentioned in a previous post, one from Rona, and Mastercraft from Canaadian Tire (I think they discontinued Mastercraft, which was available at one time in clear, white, almond, brown, gray, and black). All of these brands say "ideal for aquariums" right on the tube. The wording on all of them is strikingly similar, making me think they all come from the same source. I built a few tanks about 15 years ago, and resealed a number more with the Mastercraft, and all have held. The first tank I built about 40 years ago was with Dow, and it is still in daily use, all though I resealed it about 14 years ago, because I had a bunch of silicone left I wanted to use up.

ha sorry i was looking at the containers and typeing at work, we have the dow corning 734 silicone and we use the 1200 primer. im pretty sure that they won't harm the fish because i work in a medical company this silcone has blood and such ran through it and is submered in water to cool the blood. im just worried about long term as the product we produce is one time use!! but hehe its free

ok i have a 3/4 in glass and building a 220 gal tank. i know theres plenty of posts on here about which to use but its 3/4 in glass i just want the strongest stuff available. and should i put spacers inbetween the glass so the sillicone gets a solid bead all the way down the glass? oh yea the deminisons might help 72"long 24"deep 31"tall and oh yea im going to be shoping at the homedepot or lowes so if you buy it there that will also help. thanks

i use GE 10.1 oz. Clear Silicone I Window & Door Sealant on all my tanks
I've tried this silicone to reseal a few tanks, and see an yellowish orange growth growing on it every month or so. Does anyone know what that's about? I made sure there is NO mildewcides, or bio-seals or anything of the kind.
