Right exactly kumdoalan. Not only did I start this thread to see if it would help folks cross reference silicone but for folks to throw out recommendations, experiences, tidbits, etc., like the one above. So far most of us has heard that the anti-mildew agent in II was harmful to fish - but in what way? Apparently it seems it is ph.
Thanx Chris.
Actually... as far as GE goes, the tubes marked window and door should NEVER have the anti-mildew agent. Anything marked Bathroom/tub/tile will have the anti-mildew.

so is ge silicon II (kitchen and bath) safe or not? im looking for a definitive answer. the one i have sats it DOES have the mold/ mildew protection)

If it has ANY mold or mildew protection in it - don't use it!

GE 1200 Series in Clear or Black works great!

Largest tank I constructed is a 350, assisted a friend with a 475

3/4" glass, both tanks running for 8 years plus!

Couldn't find GE construction anywere so i got ge 1. just wanted to make sure this was the right stuff before i opened the pack and started using it

Any silicone that says kitchen and bath has an anti-mildew ingredient that is highly toxic to fish.

DAP 100% works good as well as the GE I, I prefer the DAP. I have never seen the brand shown above, nice that it states is safe for Aquariums right in the front.
