Updating with good and bad news!
First the bad. About 2 months ago this smart little guy found his way out of his tank, he had done this one other time and I though I fixed how he got out anyways the first time I found him the next morning staying warm under a dog bed this time it wasn't so easy. I spent the first week pulling everything out looking for him and couldnt find him anywhere as the days went by I looked in places that I thought he might be but no luck. 2 months went by and I could find him anywhere and thought the worst had happened like the dogs or cats got to him even tho I didn't find any body parts.
Good news just the other day I hear this noise under one of the cabinets so I rip some of the panel off the bottom and shine a light under and come to see feet with nice sharp claws I tried to use food to get him to come out but he wouldn't go for it. I took a flat head and a hammer to rip the base board off and there he was hissing at me which as great to hear seeing as he hadn't had a good meal or water in 2 months. Soaked him in a nice warm bath and he seemed to be disoriented. Got him into a new holding take for a few weeks now and he is loving having a basking spot again and big meals with a water bowl to soak in.
I'm so happy to have him back and I was running out of time to find him since Ill be moving out of state in a week and would have been terrible to leave him behind in the house for someone else to find him.
