Aussie natives Stocking.

nah my barras are FW but i do chuck some salt in every like 3 water changes, and there color has changed a bit, on there underbelly its really really silver, and stop at about the lateral line and then they become yellowish then have the black outlining like most barras, and there fins vary for time to time but they r mostly yellow. and i found a home for them:D which im very pleased about, they will be going into like a massive billabong area, its kinda hard to explain, but if anyone has ever seen underwater world on the sunshine coast, you will know what i mean!

that murry is AWSOME! i was gonna get one but i decided not to as they grow fairly quickly from what ive seen, and i just wont have enough room for him along with my other tanks, so im gonna get a sleepy cod instead, i no they r not as cool as a murry though!

Sweet MC mate! love em but like most people just don't have the space for one.

Aewsome! if they are going to underwater world I will keep an eye out for em next time I am there, can't really find a better home than that place!

Sleepy cods are cool, not as big but can still fit a lot in their mouths, can get a real personality too... just found em to be a little boring sometimes though since they don't swim a whole lot.

boring!!?!?!?!?! chuck a few feeders and see them go in an instant the seepy will ly there and as soon as the feeder is over it BANG!!!!!!! quicker then u can blink

yer mate they are going to underwater world, in the billabong with the yellas archers and lungfish. not many people can say that they have a fish on display at underwater world! lol:headbang2

yer sleepys r cool, i used to have a medium size one in with my silver perch but it died and i havent gotton one since, but im gonna get back into the cods! love em.:headbang2

nah i stick to what i said, they are boring...... you wouldnt know a sleepy was in a tank until a feeder is in there since they laze around most of the time... but i guess it is personal preference.... you obviously like ambush predators, i prefer pursuit predators, each to there own

i like both but i only like to keep aussie natives and some other fish. they can have some kool colouration depending on there mood. its just that thee good cleaner fish, and i love it when they poke there big fat head outta a rock

yes i absolutly love ambush predators!, and i like the sleepy cos they just get co chunky and a big head and just can fit anything in there mouth!. and plus they dont get to big, so they can be an easy fish to keep!

I prefer snakehead gudgeons over sleepies. Get big, crazy colours, more active hunters than sleepy cod and more inclined to hang out in the open. Just got rid of my big blue one, would have been a solid 10". A group of these in a big tank would certainly be impressive.
