Aussie natives Stocking.

They will get on for a while but keeping them together long term will be trouble.
These 3 aggressive territorial fish in a fishtank is a recipe for disaster.
Short term possible but dynamics change as they mature.
See Jcon's thread My Aussie Native Tank in Other Monster Fish forum also a fair bit in this thread if you go back through it.
Re your pond Jars need 20 celsius minimum through winter.
Unless the pond is large 30 000+ litres with appropriate cover the Cod will eventually eat everything including the catfish if the Jack does not kill it first, the Jack will kill or eat everything including the Jar.

do any of the following fish form schools or groups if kept in large enough numbers.
-sooty grunter
-coal grunter
-Australian bass
-barcoo grunter
-spangled perch

thanks

if i picked one or more species from above how many would i need to form a group
and if kept with a jar and jack in a large tank would they lower the aggression between
the two of them.

thanks once again aussiemonsters for the help

Doesn't matter what else you put in the tank the jack will murder the lot. Won't happen straight away but it will. Jack's are really only suitable as a single specimen per tank fish once they get some size to them.

Best bet if you want to try this pricey would be Jar not a Jack or Cod.
Might work might not, best not to use expensive fish for the school.
Keep the Jar well fed.
