Cheers Chris, collection has gone through many stages but always some exotic preds in one of my tanks. Not easy to get the things to Cairns either, lots of patience and $$$ ready for when the opportunity arises. If Abbott becomes PM I am seriously thinking about selling my house and going back to Canada, would be nice to keep piranhas again...Still young so no biggy to up stumps and move. Would miss the tropics though.

Few days i've been seaching non stop and can't find any i want, any i do find are already sold. I keep telling the miss's i wanna move oversea's i used to live in england but i wasn't keeping fish back then spew... I Want to move to a asian country, mabey the philly's. Fish are dirt cheap there. I'm off up the coast tomorrow heard about a italian guy that own's a shopmup there with a room out back for harder to find fish.

If he has anything good shoot me a PM, I know someone on the coast was breeding a few "interesting" fish a few years back...I will pretty much fly anywhere in Oz to pick up if a fish is worth it.

Mate i drove 300 clicks today with the miss's and kids from our house to st.greorge aquariums. Unreal shop but bloody expencive tried selling me a 15+year old arowana for $2k, then when they worked out i wasn't interested in that they tried to sell me a silver arowanna for $1500 that had drop eye. So left there and headed up the coast got to awesome aquariums not much stock at all. Askedabout this itlian fella who turned out to be ozzy shop used to be owned by asian who had any thing and everything. The guy had a big rtc with one eye not for sale. A few GG's which i can't stand. A 30cm golden clown knife for $600

So in the end i still came home empty handed. This is really starting to get bulls**** trying to own any nice interesting fish in this country. I'm really getting over it, searching forums , petlink, gumtree, wholesalers websites and aquarium websites to just to find a fish to buy.

Just keep searching, you get to know the right people. And you gotta be prepared to pay through the nose. Threw 4 red tail jungle perch in the pool yesterday, scooting around today like nutters with a gang of rainbows in their wake.

Philly's as in phillipines? thats the place you want to live for exotic pets. my cousin used to have a 3' hammerhead before it outgrew the tank. now hes just got plain ol' gator gars, channas, etc

See exactly why i want to mve to the phillipines. So easy and cheap to get amazing stock for your tank. Heard gator gars are only like $20 to buy and so on.

Mullet are surprisingly difficult, only guy that produces them consistantly says Jacks are easier.
Might have a go at Jacks this summer.
Chris and Matt there are juvie silvers in Brisbane in summer around $200 if you bulk buy.
Heaps of Mono P Bass got 10 @ 7cm still, mate has hundreds of 10 mm.
