They get bigger and as the Arapaima, the Waller grows too, till the end of his life.

The Arapaima gets a length till 2,5 meters and a weight of 200 Kg

The biggest recorded Waller was catched in the 19th century here in the river Oder and was 5 meters in length and 426Kg in weight. Thats almost double as big as the biggest Arapaima. But such a giant is very rare. The biggest Waller catched here near my city was 3 years ago. He was 2,78 m long, thats still bigger, than the biggest Araparima.

also those report you just said about the cat weighed over 400Kg and 5m long is cannot be validated today for lack of physical evidence. And a hypothetical specimen of 5 m would theoretically weigh about 700 kg (1,500 lb) or more because wels catfish is a lot fatter than Arapaima.
And most of recorded 3m wels catfish have the weight around 150kg.

There's already been a river monsters on the wells catfish. Mainly filmed in Spain on the river Ebro. For me it's one of the best episodes, one even attacks jerremy when he's releasing it.
