biggest koi

Damn thats big...
 
wow they are really big, didnt want anything to do with carp or any of its close relatives...but those koi were pretty cool
 
While in the Philipines I went to a chinese restaurant that had a tank at least 5000G with Pirarucu in it and another tank of the same size with aboue 5 foot long Koi. Huge
 
From what I have noticed the butterflys tend to stay smaller nowadays. What is the average size of koi these days. I just got three of them and what should I be expecting outta these babies?

im pretty sure you can tell the age by counting the rings on the scales, with one ring equalling one spring (or period of rapid growth) and as there are only one spring in a year the amount or rings equals the age. Like telling the age of a tree....Not 100% sure if this is true, but im pretty sure it is

however

if the scale is lost, the new one coming in will not have these ring
