Neat looking cichlids, are these a hybrid? Or produced from two different morphs?

It's line bred from Burundi's selected for broken lines.

maybe not officially a “hybrid”, but they’re line bred from burundi frontosa that have partial or incomplete patterns so that the black widows have their own distinct pattern.

they’re not found in nature, they’re “man-made” which is why i considered them a hybrid

Correct. Kinda what I said. Hybrid means a completely different thing, ie flowerhorns are hybrids.

I agree. This is my first time keeping frontosa. They are not demanding like most monster fish. So far it has been a breeze as far as feeding and maintenance.
