Thanks, that's been my vision all along. My theory is that if I provide enough interest in the plenum above the tank, the aros will keep their eyes looking up I also just like the fact that arowanas (river monkeys) can jump and catch bugs out of the branches, and I hope I'm lucky enought to get to catch them in the act.Derpeder;830507; said:I don't know about the lighting.......
What I do know is that is the greatest Idea with the branches and bugs for the aro's.
I hope that all works out for you cause that would be absolutely awesome.
My wife is actually all for the $200 lights. I am too, I just wondered if there was a better route.michaelx;830945; said:if the lights are going to be over the tent, you will have to be careful the tent does not get to hot from the lights.
if i was looking at the $200 light set-up, i would think to myself, how much would it cost to build one like it. it sounds like a great price but everything in Australia is so much more compared to the US/Can
I suppose you have spent so much on the tank already, so what is another $200 or the other way, you have spent so much already need to look at cost cutting.
its a hard one... I would ask the BOSS,(wife) if i was alowed to spend the extra money and tell her how much better it would look
I was thinking about this too. My brother works for an industrial lighting supply company, and he can get me the ballasts and housings at cost. I just worry about the heat. I still might go this route.portabuddy;831259; said:I would use two 500 watt MH lights like the kind one the side of buildings and portable work lights...
NICE!! I'm sure that warning is because some tool installed it over an open top tank 4" from the water and it corroded.TheFishGuy;831387; said:I use those "do not use" lights over all my tanks LOL
