How Might It Crack If You Painted The Tank In Rubberized Sealent
Good question, and I doubt it would, but it just seemed like a crap shoot to get a good bond between the parge coat and the block face. How thick of a coat did you put on yours?

Were Still Testing it, I am guessing just under 1/4

I am abit confused about your leak. Did you go with the Perma-flex then LRB then Perma-flex again? I did all 3 layers, and each layer alone would have been enough to seal my tank, just can't see any leaks coming through if all 3 layers were applied? Maybe you had really bad luck?!?!? Super glad to see if resolved though. You may just have inspired me to use block for my next monster!

Meant to add that the only step I did not like was using the LRB/TAV mixture instead of Silicon. I think silicon would have worked better in my application.

Well, when I talked to the chumps at sanitred, they told me that I would only need to do the LRB around the corners. So thats what I did. They said to do 4 coats of permaflex everywhere else, and that's what I did. I saw how the leak happened. It was a bubble in the permaflex that popped. Over half full now and no more leaks. I'm just going to fill it 100%. So far, so good. It's still nerve wracking :nilly:

spoke too soon. The lower left corner of the glass frame just sprung. Now I'm P.O. I'll be on the phone with sanitred tomorrow morning. It must not have bonded to the glass well. I have no idea how to fix this :irked: I am NOT taking the glass out! I'll have to carve out most of the LRB/Permaflex, clean the glass good and coat it in silicone.

I had this exact issue, which is why I dont like the LRB/TAV mixture. I feel your pain. Pretty stressful.......

I think they gave you bad advice about the LRB in the corners only. I coated the whole thing with Perm then LRB then Perm again. I can titaly see the Perm itself developing bubbles as well. I guess I can understand your leak now. That would have been usefull if the person would have told you an entire coat of LRB.

I wonder if the tank had been filled while the LRB/TAV bead was still wet/flexible if you would have fared better. I filled mine a few days after placing the glass and I think the mixture hardened and did't adhere when the glass had a little strain from water against it......
