I'm waiting because I can't get the effing sanitred/primer to bond to the glass. I'm more than a little P.O. about this right now. I had to scrape all the primer and LRB off the glass again last night.

The strange thing is, the primer sticks to the glass fine by itself. It was where I applied the LRB over the tacky primer that caused the primer to separate from the glass. I waited 3 hours after painting the primer on the glass before applying the LRB just like Sanitred told me. Looked in there today and the LRB had pulled away from the glass. Like there is some chemical reaction between the LRB and the primer THEY sent me! You'd think they'd have tested that.

So now I have to prime the glass, wait for the primer to setup, then i'm going to steel wool the primer to rough it a little bit, then re-seal with LRB. Then finally cover it all in permaflex. Not Happy.

On a brighter side of things, the background is about half covered in concrete! I'll try to get pics up soon.

if all else fails you could buy a ton of silicon and write an extensive complaint to them about their product and that you wont use it ever and tell people its a horrible product they are bound so send an appeasement.

Really? I used some silicone on the outside of my DIY with Sanitred about 6 months ago and have noticed no ill effects...

that's strange, because when I used silicone over top of the permaflex/LRB, it didn't stick AT ALL! The silicone stuck to the glass as expected, but just pealed right off the sanitred products. I'm saying right now to avoid using sanitred. Seemed like the perfect product until this point.

Nice tank. great design.:)
Your on the right track.;)
Take time in designing filtration.
Design filtration system for maximum efficiency.
Leave room in design for future un anticipated apparatuses; That may need to be added to the system, in the future, for complex applications.

you could try epoxy paint over the sanitread and then silicone the glass to that. Thats what I had to do after I used Herculiner, and it worked great.
