yeah. sorry. been too busy. I got the background almost finished. Just a little bit of concrete patching to finish. The filters are plumbed now too. So it's almost ready for filling again. I've got to get the concrete cured and the ph stable etc. I'm excited. It's looking awesome! My wife is thrilled too. Seriously. This weekend is another working weekend on the tank so let's see how far I get. Can't promise pics at this point. 1 our camera batteries must be shot because it only stays charged for about 1 minute. 2 i've got my computers all torn apart and I'm rebuilding the network. I've got 7 pcs at home and do a ton of work from my home office(s). I'm testing Vista on some machines and actually installed MacOSX on some pc hardware! ;)

I was up late last night working on the network and pcs. Too many projects going on right now.

that's what i'm finding out. This is just testing. I'll most likely take the machines back to vista. I'm just testing environments and compatibility of apps.

I really want to get the tank done, and honestly, it's getting there. I had no idea when I started this that it would take this long. Never building anything of this scale before, I had nothing to compare it to. One of the big setbacks is the curing time of materials. For example, the sanitred essentially forces you to apply it and wait a day before covering with another coat or permaflex over LRB etc. Now it's the concrete. I'm going for about 3 layers of concrete on the background, which takes about 2 days to cure. So it forces the project to take weeks for what you would think would take days.

I'm still searching for driftwood too. I got the river stones for the floor. I found a driftwood place close to me, but they want $200 for a stump. I can drive to Erie, but it's a 3.5 - 4 hour drive.

Whoa. Just saw this thread has 66,666 views! YIKES...

your a popular guy, what can i say....

as for the drift wood, go you not have lakes near you?, visit any lake, walf around the parimiter and lood for the wood that washes up on shore. my next door neighbour goes camping all the time, he takes this stuff off the shore and burns it as fire wook, now we are talking about 2'X4' pieces, when i herd this i almost $h!T!!! and i yelled at him a bit, the next time he went out he brought me about 10 pieces, one being 3'x2' and it looks sweet, thats going into the pond. the rest are decoration for the property.

$20 in gas is better then $200-$900 for drift wood.
