love the blind cave fish. I have 1 myself congrats on your huge tank
Thanks very much and nice we share a love for similar fish.

I first got Astyanax jordani (mexicanus) when I was 12 years old and was amazed at how they had adapted to their handicap.

Blair Beemer from the Brampton Aquarium club gave me a few Super large ones in March of 2009 and it rekindled my interest in them. Soon after Big Al's had a sale of them for 3/$1.00. So I picked up a few more. They live in a 90 gallon with a small bristlenose and a few guppies.

Wow you got one of everything haha. You ever keep sunfish or anykind of native catfish?
I've had both as a child catching them in creeks at my uncle's farms and in lakes in Haliburton Ontario. Their need for cooler water limited my desire to keep them. I did have a couple of large channel catfish in the late 1980's but they were killed by a Hemibagrus nemurus in a 240g tank in 1990.

I found a 650 gallon stock tank at the local tractor place that I plan on buying next month but I have heard stories off a 1000 gallon stock tank in existace which I would really like to get instead of a 650.

Someone made a video about how to work on one of these solar pumps and I'm planning on getting this model here that can run during the day and into the night too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWIY74R5gvE&feature=related

The 650 sounds good but I agree the 1000 would even be better.

Could not click on youtube because google wants me to have an account with them and no time to do it tonight.

arapaimag,

How big is the Emperor cichlid? Thank you.
That is a wild caught I got from Jerry Draper at the Tropical Fish Room in Brantford he has been to Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika. It is just over 20 inches when measured in 2010. I've had one bigger at 23". There was a nice one at the OCA in 2008 and it is now 26" owned by a local Cleveland area pet shop.

Mine was a wimp till the past few months and now thinks he is a tough guy.
