Building My 50,000 Gallon Monster Mega Tank

I have just spend about 2 hours reading and digesting your wonderful tank. This is the most impressive private tank I have ever seen. Looking back on your work is there anything that you would do differently had you known in the beginning

Penny welcome to MFK

Almost anytime you set up a tank you decide within days things you should have done.

I think one side having raised floor drains would have allowed me to have several inches of sand for sand sifting fish. Also after seeing the refraction of light through the water then the glass I would have changed the glass panels on the 90 degree section of glass.

Great build and tank! Very interesting thread. I had something like this in my basement, but that was only because it flooded to the toon of 10 inches of water. I am going to restart my 75 soon and go native north american. My sump is always full of water from the underground stream out back. I have always thought about trying to tap into that to run an outdoor pond.

I will show this to my wife and she will be scared that I want one.... I do want one.

All i have right now is a 60gal. in the front room... she gets mad i even look at DIY tanks

Welcome to MFK. Hope she enjoys the fish you have now and gets into wanting the big diy tanks in the future.
