I can only estimate from the friends who have swam in the tank with them but the W. leeri appears to be about 54inches and the W attu somewhere between 40 to 42 inches.

They have proven difficult to get a good picture of.

Neoprodigy will be visiting in 2007 and maybe he will be willing to go in the tank and get some good pictures.

I did send him video of my tank that was shot with a remote control submarine by Ad Konings, Stuart Grant and others between 2000 and 2002.

He was going to convert to the MFK site but the tapes were damaged somewhat by magnetic contact and he has not yet worked on the project due to time at work and family.
Damn, that leeri is pretty much full grown and the attu has still got some growing left in him. Man, I would love to see some pics of those monsters. I bet those two take down alot of unwary fish in your tank. Sweet!

hello, i am planning to build a 4,000 gallon tank and i am doing research on what this will take. This is the first tank i have built i am a brick mason so i am going to build it out of 8 inch block-i get them free. I want the tank to be 15' long 5' wide and the water level will be 7'. I want the glass to be two pieces 5' long by 4' high. The back and sides will be all block. The local glass dealer said i would need 1/2 inch glass for these. Is this correct it seems to be to thin. Also i was wondering what i would have to do to filter this thing. Can i use a pool pump or do i need something else. Any help or advise you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you-roger

I think it is super that you are going to build a big tank. That is great that 1. you are a skilled mason and 2. the bricks are free. I was not aware that the 1/2 inch glass was strong enough for that amount of pressure. As I mentioned in the article I used 1 inch glass at 3 foot widths with 5 feet of pressure. I use pool pumps and am in the process of upgrading the heating system and filtration system by adding bag pre filters, an additional 600 pound sand filter, replacing the sand with multi media and adding post ionizers. I suggest you also look at the filters the other monster fish keepers are using before you make a final decision

What fish are you going to keep in it?

my plan is to keep wild fish in the tank. Bass, Gar, catfish, turtles, fresh water eels and stuff like that. I was wondering ig the chinease perch would get along with these fish? Sence these fish are wild will i need to heat the water? About the glass again the local glass dealer told me i needed 1/2 glass tempered and polished. I dont know if this is thick enough. Also they will cost like 1,100 dollars. Is this fair?????
