well this is my first post on this site, I have to say thats a prity nice tank you have there, and no im not going to ask you howmuch it cost you as i must have seen it asked about every 5 posts(all ignored), with my own monster in the works i know how quickly it runs up, but like you im spreading the project out over time. My self Im building a 10000gallon(well ?10000-13000?) pond with a 20"tall waterfall in the backyard and my brother joked "well lets stretch it to the house and put in a window in the basement to see the fish..." to which i replied dont be dumb... now i regret it. BTW i did read all of the fifty some-odd pages and IF your looking for pumps i got two 7500gph pumps from a guy on ebay (brent661) lastyear pritty cheap, they are new external 1hp pumps and this would provide a the circulation that you seem to need.

here is a pic of them with a dime on one for size.IMG_3264.JPG they where under $300 CDN each thats now bad.

I wish you luck and i thought of your tank when i was at a local manderin today that had a 30'long marine tank.

I think I'll post the some pic of my pond project so far and maybe inspire others to begin there projects like you have done.

I would just like to give my admiration for your fantastic project, It is truely outstanding. :WHOA:

I look forward to viewing more pictures if you post them, although i understand your reluctance to show after reading about the possible ban on certain fish.

Soon i'm putting a 8x3x2 in my lounge of my new house for my main display tank.
At the moment i have a couple of 6x2x2's, 3 3x2x2's, 4 4x18x18 and other smaller size's spread about the place. Obviously nothing in your league but its a start. :)

But then again things are going to be smaller in quaint little England, UK.

I did the same as you and built underground.....erm but I cheated we've got a basement!

Similar fish collection to me....apart from the arapaima is my dream fish.

I'll put up some photos once I've got my girlfriend on the technicals.

Can you get hold of Practical Fishkeeping Magazine December issue as there are two articles and photos of my tank.

Once again in total awe and admiration. Your tank is how monster fish should be kept!

how do you do water changes???

Same as the rest of us but on a much much much larger scale !! :D

Seriously tho i read (in the 57 pages to date) that he pipes waste water out to his pond and water comes in from a well. As to the intricacies it would be interesting to hear.

Perhaps some nice mod could collate this info to the 1st post or something so ppl dont have to plough thru all the pages taking notes like a college exam. :)
