check out the husbandry manual in zoodivers sticky thread and read through it before attempting anything. Also I'm not sure you're going to be able to legally keep a California horn shark

California Horn Sharks are legal in most US states - Arizona is the exception.

As for water temps - Cali Horns seem to do best when kept at between 64-75F.

As for tank size - I would say at least a 480-500 gallon (8'Long x 4'Wide x 2'tall) until they reach maturity. After reaching maturity - I would say go with a pond that is at least 1,000-1,200 gallons or more.

Tank Set-up - basically a standard modest FOWLR tank will do fine. But you will need a heavy-duty filtration system.

As for keeping Invertebrates with them - Cali Horns are primarily invertebrate feeders, so they will likely prey on any invertebrates that are kept with them - i.e. Shrimp, crabs, snails, starfish, and even anemones.

huh, wow i was under the impression that they could be kept in much smaller tanks, when i looked at the info in the link i posted i did the math and it said a minimum of 175-180 gallons for a full-sized adult....we are talking about Heterodontus francisci right?

i read that they usually grow to about three feet and are relatively sedentary. was i wrong? because the size i've found in multiple places, including fishbase.......?

is there a smaller kind of horn shark? and what if i got a female, they stay smaller i think...would a 220 be anywhere near big enough? sorry if i sound desperate....its just that i kind of am :1zhelp::nilly:
