Yeah what Hawk said. I've thought about this a bit, as I've got a 170G (6x1.5x2.5) and I'd like to have an aro, and I think it probably could live in that, but it would be pretty miserable. Better than some mope's 55 I suppose, but not much good for the aro.

As for silvers not really growing to 3' in tanks that's just silly; there are plenty of guys here with silvers well over 30" that weren't kept in huge ponds. If the aro isn't reaching 30"+ then it's the fault of the keeper, not some innate problem with aro's kept indoors.

 yeah seriously!!!!! this should be deleted cause a guy new to aros might see this failure of a thread and be like, "great! i can keep my silver aro in a 112.3g tank!!!!" (CICL's 5x2x1.5) :screwy:

always have a tank's width of the same length of ur aro or longer. if not ur aro will get drop tail and its incurable.

5'x2'x1.5' is enuf. silver needs a lot of space

indoor bred silver will go to 30'' max

Contradict yourself much? How does 30'' = 2 feet? Apparently anyone who listens to you will have a silver with drop tail.

from what i've seen on tyhis forum, all ur silvers are from america, and caught in the wild. i've even seen ppl buying baby silvers with their egg sack -.-'' all my aros come from asia, mainly malaysia. that's y their silvers are hybrid, they are not caught in rivers or wild -.-'' duh. they have been genetaically modified to be more resistant and colourful. n yeah its not from crappy farms where they breed all kinds of fishes but specialising in aros -.-'' duh dude inform urself a bit

btw im not on for a flame war, peace man. at least inform urself n google before talking -.-'' aint my fault if u cant get an asian or hybrid lol
