I think since Monday. Anti-government protestors stormed Suvanaphumi Airport. ... lots of stranded tourists. There is a warning not to travel to Thailand from many governments. Currently, the airport is still locked down - i hope, they will release airport next week - hence delay in delivery of MY FISH!!!!selki;2468825; said:all flights from thailand are suspended? till when? and since when?
Dude, imagine if my fish were scheduled to arrive this Monday - ALL would be DEAD by now (several thousand worth of fish). Flights to Vientiane were suspended until today.Eleven Bravo;2469224; said:really, i know its ur thread and all, but all u can think about is ur fish.
It is weird. Our BKK office is business as usual - all looks normal on the streets of BKK if you are not the area of unrest. I am sure the effect will start to be felt soon. Imagine, Thai airway was 40+ THB at one moment now it is 7.5 THB per share - MELT DOWN. Imagine what happens to tourism!!!classic-chassis;2469224; said:I know where he's coming from, this is South East Asia. In the last 60 years there have been 17 coups in Thailand alone.
there's always some sort of nonsense going on.
I'd be worried about my fish as well, if the locals want to shoot each other because of a political divide let them.
Can you imagin Mcain's camp shooting at Obama supporters just because they lost the election?
That's why they're doing it here.
Not to take the thread the wrong way, but all i care about is my own, if the tanks come out again and they've got different colours on them I'm straight the the British Embassy with my family, passports in hand.
My brother in law will come pick up my fish and take it to the countyside where he lives and look after it. sounds cynical I know, but this is Thailand and if you've never lived here you can't understand it. riots, coups, run of the mill.
I feel sorry for the stranded tourists though but they've been put up in a five star hotel until they can fly out again so i guess not so many will be worried.

But you are wrong in certain aspect - it is not only the fish i care about, as a neighbor to Thailand, i have money riding on their stock market (which has melted down in line with the rest of the world AND some more due to their anarchy right now) as well as their currency (which is a bust now too).
I do hope that their instability does not spill over here <sigh> troubling times indeed
again, that guy wasnt referring to your asians as the only thing you care about but the humans that are going through rough times and not the stock investments you have put into their country. I think thats what he was tryin to say
