that is a beautiful tank! cant wait for updates! and its better to put all ure arows in at the same time because it does not give them a chance to claim territory and become aggressive.
The first day with fish in the tank is gonna be sleepless for i think :D i am not too worried about large red, xb and blue-based (these are 12"). I am more concerned about the juvi green, black and HBRTG (these are 6"). It is like two groups of different sized fish.... got some HDPE pipes (these are jet black) that i will be hiding inside the tank with some gravel to create hiding bits for fancy plecos.

The plan is the put all in the same tank... plan B is to put smaller fish in the 7' and move 3 silvers to this one.... don't know what to do with jar (if put with smaller residents it may turn homicidal) .... hmmm stressful choice. I hope all new residents can stay in the new home.

PS: i would be really ticked off if red, XB and blue-base start to fish ... should not be the case with so much space - but who knows ...like i said, sleepless night there i think

PS: waiting for the canopy to be ready. i have seen black tank lighted up - looks really cool

Well, this time next week, i should be waiting for plane from Bangkok (transit from Singapore) to arrive in Vientiane Airport :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2 ... i still remember getting my guinea pig out of cargo section (i broght her back from Perth when i returned some years ago - good move, she lived for another 4 years before passing away at 7 year old) ... getting off track here (happens at this age ^^)

I must be getting paranoid though :(, i am worrying about the current's strength on fishes ... on 6" ones (black, green HBRTG) in particular ... hmmm what about bigger ones at 12" (the rest) ...how are they going to do with strong current? (i use the same pump as in my other aquarium except that previous set-up discharged on top, while the new set-up discharges through the bottom - thus stronger current i think)...

plecs i am not worried cos there are hiding places installed (HDPE pipes cut in half)

<sigh > ... have not put in the green aro for testing yet ... canopy is not yet ready ... marble pims are OK (eating and pooping and cycling the tank). Temp is cranked up at 30C

Keep tuned next week when all fish arrive.

I still need an answer for the current issue with aros as well as mixing big (12") and small (6") aros together ...

In my experence unless you have a group of 6 or more aros the bigger one will pick on the smaller one.In groups of 6 or more ususaly the smallers ones are left alone ( unless they fit inside the bigger ones mouth):D

Kinda difficult to tell. three 12" and three 6" .... theoretically a 12 incher can eat 6 incher. I have seen jar do something similar (large jar ate a large claris without barbs). this point is OK i guess, i have back-up tank to put the smaller fish in - in case there is trouble ^^

What about current issue? what would be considered too strong? (especially for smaller 6" fish). Is there such thing?

There is a BIG set back :cry::cry::cry::cry: unrest in Thailand and takeover of Suvanaphumi Airport!!!! :irked::irked::irked: These demonstrators are crazy:screwy::screwy::screwy:

All flights are currently suspended. I am not risking having fish stuck in customs (they allow inbound flights in the air but not outbound).

The new date is now 5th of DEC 08 - hopefully by that time the political situation in Thailand is calmer ....

I am soooooo pissed now:irked::irked::irked:

PS: the green aro is in (since yesterday) and testing the water (not eating but that is normal for newly moved aro). Still alive and current does not seem to bother it too much - that is the good news :grinno: ... so now there are two mable pims and green aro testers
