Infact, **** it. Probably not what a lot of my followers want to hear but i have many other projects around the house the wood is all useful for. The paddling pool can go back where the pond is now and i can scale back my volume of fish. There should still be enough liner and tarp width where it's not been cut for windows to double liner the paddling pool. Maybe in the future or when i've moved and got spare money i'll come back with something bigger with windows (i've had a plan for that for a while anyway), but as it is now i've learnt what will work and what's good for a future build. Filtration and pump is more than enough for just the paddling pool.

It was fun and kept me busy anyway, but looks like i'm right back around to how it was set up to start with! At least all the money won't have been a waste. I hope this has been useful and inspiring to some people out there.

Free to a good uk MFK home; 4x 16" Pacu (they won't fit in the paddling pool for long!) and possibly 4x 8" various Pangasius but already have a possible taker for them.

mop up towels at the bottom of the window are all currently dry which is good. takes a long time to empty 4000+ litres with a 700litre per hour at 0 head fountain pump attached to a garden hose!

Base and lid and modified sides will be kept and fitted around the pool for insulative purposes.

Really should have clocked expension and contration as issues with how much noise the roof makes in the mornings and evenings. Full height glass not requiring frame support stuck directly to the liner would have avoided the issue........oh well, know for next time, i am looking at it and pondering new glass but the funds just aren't there right now for what i'd need. The simple option is scaling back and using the paddling pool.

Thanks guys, glad i was inspiring to you and i certainly did enjoy building this. It won't quite die with being taken down as quite a lot of it will be re-worked around the paddling so it doesn't just look like.......well, a paddling pool in the corner of a conservatory!

There's no easy solution to the expansion/leak issues without having to be rather destructive to get the windows out anyway so i'll just drop down to the old Pool for the time being and got my eye on a larger paddling pool already that i wanted to start with at the beginning but they'd sold out last summer. This won't be my last monster tank/pond build, but all being well i'm moving out of here in about 3 years to a better place so i'm happy to let pools do the fish holding until then. I'm going to try and do some drawings of what the next plan is so you'll understand why i don't mind waiting:naughty: (It'll be proper monster, not worked out the gallonage yet but i'd be suprised if it's less than 6,000. Plus the next will be able to mobile, and designed to last decades rather than just a few years. Unfortunately i just don't have space for it here) and this build has certainly helped with many aspects of design on it.

Biggest tip from all this that i've found is that filtration doesn't need to be as complicated as you think! My 2 boxes do an absolutely brilliant job, The water is always crystal clear and they only recieved one major cleaning when they were moved from paddling pool to pond earlier this year. certainly require much less maintenance than the 2 eheim 2217 on my 6x2x2 do when that's up and running.

I will keep adding pictures (If MFK ever lets us again) as i scale back down and insulate the paddling pool.

Right i'm gonna get drawing on the next build to show you all, estimated build start date; Mid to late 2013!

i like this quotation, works for me......

"rise and rise again, until lambs become lions"

sounds a bit daft, but i take from it, never stop, get knocked down, take a breath, get up, each time life kicks you down you get up again that little bit stronger.

Now, hurry up 2013, i wanna see the big oak tree that's gonna grow from this not so small acorn :)
