Steve
That explains it, i'd forgotten about them.

It would be a shame to rip it apart before you try the above i say.

Steve
Yeah i was running out of good ideas, but that'd give me a flexible fix so the heat isn't going to be an issue. Will give it a go when i eventually get home! Hopefully that will be this month:D

How's the start on your build going? Still waiting for planning permission?

joehanney;4144786; said:
would some pond suppliers not have some offcuts that they could let you have cheap or even free
Good thinking, saves buying them if i can get oof cuts. Worked out i'll need 3 pieces 1,000mm x 800mm (40inch x 32inch) so that should be easily scroungable with the normal liner size needed for ponds.

I think the faith is returning a little, you can stop panicing now;) Still waiting to see you with a paddling pool up and running for your cats tho mate.

If it helps I think you can still save the tank!!!
All the encouragement is helping, thanks CS and everyone else. Got thrown off the horse a bit there, but i've shot the ****** and sold him to a glue factory so getting back with it a bit now.

Satan mate, i have just joined your club. done a test fill on the filter, got it to about a foot or so deep, approx. a third of its depth, then it sprung a small but constant lerak along the outside edge/corner on the right hand side :WHOA: :( :WHOA: :( :WHOA: my worst nightmare has come true. draining it now, doesn't give me much confidence for the main tank now. maybe i will buy another couple litres of the epoxy and give it two more coats.
Not good mate. Can never have too much waterproofing, whack a few more coats of epoxy into all of it and try again. Can't quite remember, did you use anything between your wood where 2 bits of ply meet to help make a seal? Just don't give up on it, you got it up to 1ft before it started leaking so you've proved your sealing system does work (mostly!) so it's a win in my view.:headbang2

Cheers for that. nope, did'nt apply anything between the ply butt joints, they were machine cut and square, as much as was possible, i knew i was gonna use the epoxy putty so thought it was cool. Not chuffed about the putty, it's seeming to take a damn long time to go rock hard, that's if its meant to.

I'll get it dry then order some more, i'm not trying to be a party pooper but if it doesn't work after the extra epoxy.................... not sure yet, but it won't be pretty :irked:

Fair one. The itch to start a thread is always there, but not much point if there's nothing to show yet.

Going to hold back on an ISO Thread until it's done;)
