Catfish Bonanza

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think the big boy is maxing out, but that's not to say that he won't grow more. They grow their entire lives, it just slows way down. He still gets spurts every now and then, but I have noticed lately that he eats way smaller meals and still adds weight, but not much length. The RTC however is adding both, but he has even slowed down some. I'm gonna keep him well fed, and if I get this tank finished before winter I'll at least put all the smaller fish in it. After they are all large enough that I don't fear them being killed or eaten I will try out the big boy. Might be next summer.

Here is a link to the tank build for anyone who hasn't seen it. Thanks for everone's insights and thoughts.

This tank is a big transition. I should have started it a long time ago, but I had other priorities.

What are they in, in that pic? Like a pool or something:confused: .....

350 gal cattle trough, and the others are in a 300 gal cattle trough. The new tank will come out to just under 4000 gals.

I love your thread and cant wait to see the new tank and how happy the cats will be. Keep up the good work.

been really busy lately, but planning on updating my fish sometime in the next five days. My hybrid MRTC is right around the 20" mark. I'll try to get some updated pics of him next to the RTC for comparison.

You do realize that now that you said that... your MRTC will not go next to your RTC at all right? LOL
