Did you trim back the soil grown roots so it can grow water adjusted ones?

What is that much doing to your water?

keeps nitrate under 80ppm or 40. the red on my chart for 40 to 160ppm all looked the same.

Yikes. Does that mean you do no water changes??

50-70% every saturday @2:30-3pm but that tank is down since i upgraded to the 480g with drip.

Great thread! I've gone through a little better than half of the ~140 pages but still have a question! For those of you with pothos plants in their main tank, where the roots become completely exposed to air during water changes, do you find this is detrimental to the plant? I've read remarks elsewhere where exposing the roots to air once a week is like putting the plant through "transplant shock" every week and eventually it will wither and die due to this? Has anyone experienced this with pothos in your tank?

I've only had mine for a few weeks but 5 water changes haven't seemed to affect it. It's still growing fine.

I picked up these plastic trays and a package of suction cups from my local dollar store and have a $5.98 pot of "golden pothos" from Lowes. I'm going to try a tray or two in my 75g and see how it goes.
