Ambient lite is just fine! A little extra will help a little, I simply bought a aluminum dome lamp in the auto section @walmart for 8$ and a cheap 11watt florecent bulb, seems to help a little but nothing major.

Even has a rotating clamp, so it can basically mount anywhere! Same thing at lfs is about 20-40$ without bulb.

Haha, alright. I have a clamplamp left over from the herping days, I'll use it if it seems like it's neccessary. I have a daybulb somewhere. But if ambient works out then I'm golden with that!

I'm gonna get some of this into my siren and frog tanks too, and no fanciness there, just gonna jam them wherever. Not as tricky as the main community^^ Can't do for the ropes or the crays though, they'd climb out no matter what I did...

Haven't got any special secrets for calcium/lime buildup do you? I've got some on that tank, tried everything. It doesn't even have a different feel from the glass anymore, it's so ingrained.

Clean straight razor blade! Very simple and effective, every time I buy a used tank 10 min a blade and its perfect :)

That just means your water is hard and has a lot of calcium, same with my tap, I have to do a scrap every few months. But for some reason my Bw tank never gets this build up....

Think of it as regular maintenance

The tank came with the stuff adhered on. I'll take another swing at it with something, I guess.

Anywho, CHECK IT!

I'm gonna try to find some plastic or something to keep lid clear.

Wow that's a load of POTHOS! LOVE IT!

I'm sure you will see some significant drops in nitrates in a few weeks! Good stuff!

Also even a un treated piece of wood can cover it, you could even seal it with paint
