Very nice. How much water do you change on this tank a week?

50%. I set up a 180g tank for aqua-phonic to suck up as much nitrates as possible to prevent it from going above 40ppm. I travel a lot and have less time to do water changes. My only concern is the too much build up of fish pheromones.

Oh don't get me wrong the fish DOES look mayan. I just find it very interesting how its the only example i've seen with the small tail spot. And i've seen some festae without the joining front bars too, it can be confusing.

perhaps its the locality of the fish? I've heard they have even been found in the sea

Well I'm sure this is not a red terror as this was not found in South America. This was caught in Mexico. Also RT will have 8-9 stripes and mayan will have 7 only. Head shape of mayan is also pointy with the forehead almost sloping down. RT have a rounded headshape similar to cf.ornatus.
