Nice. Looks similar to what my tank will be, just not as crowded. Once my cichlids get bigger and outgrow my 400 I will get another tank and split them. Beautiful fish though.

You know, I'm sure this isn't a popular view, but this may be correct. I don't have a lot of experience yet, but my tank would probably be considered "overstocked" right now, and still there are virtually no problems with any of the fish in there. Or maybe I will have a dozen dead fish soon. I guess we'll see.

I actually started this method eversince I started african rift lake cichlids. I noticed that there are few scales off, few nips and less beaten up or went to the corner stressed out when keeping them overcrowded. I also have my SA/CA tank as well but less over crowded and the dominant fish keep pushing the rest in the corner. Also plenty of beaten up, lips busted, fin torned apart and scaled off. Then started to add more and more till it was over crowding and I noticed that everything are doing ok and no more stress from fights and battle damages. The only problem is the bio-load rise up quickly. So u will need to have a better filtration to keep up with the bio-load.
