I was trying to get some parting shots of my arowana, phoenix barbs, and tinfoil barbs before I move them out to the pond this week but it's tough since these guys never stop moving. This is the best shot I could get...

The phoenix barbs will start turning red as they get bigger so I can't wait to see them develop.

My arowana developed drop eye (build up of fatty tissue above the eye) over the winter so that will also be interesting to see what happens when he goes to the pond. From what I've read, most report it goes away when arowanas are moved to a pond.

So far so good. He jumped right into the center brace when I was trying to net him and knocked some scales off but seems to be okay. He has swam right up to the channel cat a few times and the channel cat just ignored him. Hopefully he'll settle in and not jump out of the pond (my biggest fear).
He seems to really like hanging out in the current of the returns. It's cool, looks like he just gliding on the current with no effort at all. The camera doesn't pick up just how pretty he looks with sunlight shining off off his scales.

Wow. Looks great. Do you still have the heater running on the pond?
