Darboy's Cichla Pleiozona Growout Thread

darboy, i can get some powder chemicals on my side and mail it to u, just make sure u dose it right. it removes all traces of algae from the water and the tank, without much scrubbing. its by some japanese company. friend dose it into its monster ponds and the water + tiles are clean within the week.

Hey bro thanks for the generous offer! Just ot back from shanghai with a 36 watt tman uv sterilizer for my semi green tank... When i went home and inally saw the tank, the water was the clearest it has ever been! Just did half a water change and cleaned the filter out.. :)

Thanks dogg! I agree cant seem to recreate in picture what the naked eye trully sees. Is it a nikon canon thing? Haha try shooting from your canon one night. :)

We can try but i doubt its going to be any different from the shots you take.

#7 October 2, 2012 update

Pleiozonas are larger than the last update, i think. hehehe not measuring exact length but i suspect they grew about half an inch to an inch maybe. they are now the kings of my tank since i took out the bigger monocs some weeks ago. im hoping to see a pair forming but still no flaring and flirting from these guys, im beginning to suspect that they are all of the same gender...

Thanks if they are pleiozonas, they will turn out great!

Marvellous pics;) wat do u feed them?
Hi Ron, been feeding them mosquito fish, guppies, feeder goldfish, and when i get my hands on some hikari cichlid gold, i feed them that too. These guys can eat about anything.. Tried dead fish, home made pellets, superworms, all were consumed.
