My four pleiozonas are hovering at 13-15 inches now. they are still growing lengthwise and are now starting to increase in height as well. i find them different from monos with regards to the height of the fish, cichla monoculus tend to be taller than my pleiozonas at this size. Pleiozonas do not look boxy as well not like a cichla monoculus. here are some pics with one of my monoculus and i hope you can tell the difference.
