The last few days have seen a bit of action that justifies an update. On Sunday the guy who bought my green aro picked it up, and I dropped my big ornate off at a friends house on a long-term loan (couldn't bring myself to sell it!). That left the 6' fairly empty, and today I came home from the LFS with another 5 G. altifrons around 8-10cm and have spent the last 2.5 hours moving fish! I moved the 30 clown loaches from the 160g to the 210g, catching them was hard work and I ended up soaking wet. For the first time I felt the wrath of one of their subocular spines when one around 3.5" jumped out of the net and onto the floor, silly mistake trying to direct it back into the net by hand!!
So the stocking for the 210g and 160g is now as follows;
210g
30 loaches
2 Acarichthys heckelii (both male)
3 Uaru amphiacanthoides
2 Archocentrus sajica (both male)
1 Datnioides polota
1 royal panaque L190
160g
10 Geophagus altifrons
1 Satanoperca leucosticta
2 Heros Sp. Rotkeil (both male)
1 Chalceus macrolepidotus
1 Peckoltia brevis
1 blue phantom plec L128
The 210g is pretty much done for now, and the contents of the 160g will be moved to the 370g along with a few more catfish and a black aro (yay!!!!) once its up and running.
Now for the interesting part, pics of the loaches in transit;
Squares on the bottom of the container in this pic are just over 2"
