I am going to get the parts in the morning and try it out on my 75
I will let you all know what i find out.
Why do they have those one way air things on the top of the tubes?

As previously mentioned, they're there to remove air from the tube.

I've built 2 of these units of 1' pvc for a 180g. I can't figure out how to keep the water levels balanced in the main tank and the sump. Does anyone know how to do this.

I am going to build two overflows for my 125. I was thinking 1" PCV. But i am not sure what size pump? I have a mag 6 or 7 laying around that i could use but I was wondering if it could keep up with both overflows? I am building a 40 gallon wet/dry sump. Let me know what you think.

The overflows will only flow what the pump puts back into the tank. The water level should never go above the overflow(it will stay right at the top of them). If it does go above them the pump is too strong or their is air or something else impeding the flow.

Think of it in a literal sense......overflow. it's exactly how they act.

Ok, then is it possible to have an overflow like these that sucks waste off of the bottom, and dosent empty the tank in a power loss?? If not, how do you remove the fish waste from your tanks with just a regular overflow? Seems like all the waste will collect on the bottom and never float to the top to be sucked out......

If you have enough flow you wont have to worry about waste collecting on the bottom. If it is a problem, add a powerhead at the bottom to keep it stirred up.

would a spray bar pointing towards the front of the tank create enough flow? Will it even creat flow in a tank that is 22 inchs tall??

I'm planning to build one for my Pangasius. Since these are very skittish fish, will surface turbulence affect the siphon by introducing air to the intake? If so, how will I prevent this? Thanks!
