I don't know squat about long-line tuna, but...how does that relate to our sport-angling discussion?
How many fish did anglers catch last year, worldwide? What percentage of those were mega-Marlin or other high-speed superfish? Certainly, no more than a tiny, tiny fraction of one percent.
What percentage of angled fish were pulled up onto piers high in the air? Way more than the Marlin example, but still a very small percentage of the overall angling take.
Compared to angling...how many fish were electroshocked to death last year? Might as well include dynamite here, but...still, a relatively tiny drop in the bucket.
That's what I meant by the term "extreme". My lifetime-best Brook Trout was taken many years ago; I caught it flopping on the lawn up at the cottage, after a beaver dam up the road burst and flooded our cottage lot. Just another statistically-insignificant example; an extreme.
And, more to the point: individual opinions were solicited. I don't really care how anyone else does it; that does not affect my own personal opinions.
