The 120 looks so much better with some proper aquascaping! Nice work with the plants (and not for a cichlid guy, for anyone).
Hey thanks bro! FYI, behind the "stump" feature in the background, I have 2 300 watt heaters, 1 Hydor V sponge filter, 1 Maxijet 1200 running the sponge, 60"+ of pothos roots, 2 FX5 intakes etc... ;)

Well I bet you $5 you're gonna get algae in that tank... algae, moss... what's the difference?
Nope, sorry.... Your on with the $5 though.. No way this tank gets overran. I have nothing live other than fish to keep alive so algae gets choked out nice and easy.. That's the point with having different tanks with different sytles.. ;)

Your work is amazing as always and continues to look splendid. Did you find your silk plants at Michael's you were searching for? I'm anxious to see what you've done with that idea.
BTW, ACWO, I have tremendous faith in Justin's ability. I'd not like to see you with catsup on your face. It would give a entirely new meaning to burgers and fries.

Thanks J! I want to propgate as many of these as I can. Lovely plant. I decided on phillodendron above the tank, Pistia as a top layer, onion & anubias for the back ground and may two or so compact swords for the foreground. Sound about right or too much? Will I need CO2/ferts?

Would only worry about the swords. Fertilizer would be helpful. CO2 not necessary, but makes everything grow faster. My compact sword didn't grow much until I added that flourish excel I gave you, you could definitely dose with that until you get the swords to the size you want and then stop. They draw nutrients through their roots so one of those fert tabs that flourish makes underneath each plant would probably be enough fertilizer. Water column ferts will make everything else grow better though.

55 gallon is a decent tank, don't let anyone tell you different. They have some really cool backgrounds from design by nature that are cut to fit 55 gallon tanks.

Today's the day. It's draining right now. I will pull out the sand and moving it to it's final resting place, add the styro, acid test and add the stones and have this tank running tonight, no matter what.. The aquascaping etc.. can wait. Sorry for the flash and temp actinic lights.

Clockwork and I were talking last night and decided that the 125 gallon holding tank is going to get overhauled after all. I will call Matt over at DBN today and see about getting a brown slimline BG. This tank is being done completely different than the other tanks though. Slow moving blackwater, Venezualen stream. Real wood, tons of it and the darkest tannin stained water you can imagine. Piles of leaves are drying out now.. Sole filtration will be 3 sponges/heater. We'll see about proving a few myths wrong I see some members suggesting to one another. LMK if you guys can think of any other myths we should tackle with this tank. Just for fun.

The taps have already spawned in the holding tank. These fish are crazy. Non-stop love fest... :nilly:
