Very exciting day!! Your idea for the 125 sounds very interesting. Your Geos look amazing. Can't wait to get some of my own.

Thanks man, I'm looking forward to it too!

I just got back from HD with a ton of supplies including two 48"x24"x3/4" sheets of styrofoam to go under the 300g. Anyone have any good ideas on how to get it under the tank when I'm home alone?

Needed to button up the returns from both FX5's before the tank goes against the wall.

I stepped the 1" ID hose down to 3/4" so it will run the Loc-Line splits now instead of the default FX5 nozzles. Every tank in my house is plumbed to switch FX5's in and out between them on a moments notice and I don't have to mess with the hoses at all.

Running softline all the way up to the barb make them removable and reusable without cutting them apart.

This sucks but I can't do a sump for now so I just capped off the bulkhead fittings of where the external durso's were going so I can run the water level all the way up. :(

I cut two lengths of 3/4" ID PVC to act as the intakes for each FX5. Mechanical on tall tanks suck so this will help get the intakes lower.

The gutter guard on the front of the tower acts as the screen so I don't need the FX5 stock ones and you can't see the white PVC but it will perform better mechanical.. ;)

Break over, back to it..

You guys don't want to know how I got the the styro under the tank.. I'm sore.. :nilly:

P1010003.JPG

I moved the tank against the wall and got the sand back in the tank.

P1010012.JPG

This is about a 5 gallon bucket and a half of smooth stone, I got all washed and acid tested and in the tank. I even managed to get a few large white pieces for clockwork. I still need to move em around etc.. but at least they are in.

First try and not a single leak from any of the bulkhead fittings or PVC plumbing. Worth every penny over the Aqueon (pound sand Aqueon :thumbsdow ) ones..

I have never seen this tank so full since I've owned it. I am so stoked! :headbang2 Only one of the three T5's running in the middle.

Now to tackle this turd bucket...

P1010039.JPG

I didn't get the fish moved today because I need another 400 watt heater but I am really happy none the less. I got 200 lbs of sand out, styro added under the tank, PVC plumbed, tank moved, 200 lbs of rock cleaned and added to the tank, the sand added back in, filled and leak tested.. That's allot of work.

Tank is looking awesome. Please tell me you used my secret method of moving large tanks on stands! :)
I couldn't, I had to level and shim it too (besides not being man enough to try that anyway lol..) I did all the above on my own today :screwy:

I've just been dealing with all my tanks cycling right now. Water changes daily pretty much. That infection FINALLY cleared up in all my big fish, thank god for kanamycin. Now I just have a janky denisoni with a bum tail to nurse back to health, otherwise the fish are ready for the 125.

So for all you following this thread, you can look for my thread on putting a design by nature 3D BG JK47 so generously donated to me for my 125 gallon.

Here it is:

Just a quick question, Justin. What ever became of this bugger?

Curiousity is killing me! But . . . Did you ever make it to Michaels and find anything useable?
