Where do you live that you could do an outdoor set-up like that?! I think that is really creative and cool! What all do you have in the tank - just snakeheads?

As my location indicates, i live in Laos (Lao People Democratic Republic). It is actually not hot and humid all the time. The winter can kill juvenille fish if no heating is provided (i learned that the hard way). The guys that live in my outdoor are all mature so should be ok. When the weather cools down it is important to reduce feeding (well fish do not eat so much anyhow).

PS: snakeheads in da photo are feeders lol ^^

sry " two Alligator Gars, Oscar, two newly moved red-bellied Pacus, various tinfoils and two escaped tilapias."

Lol so you tried to guess from the pics? Well, close: 3 gars, oscar, arapaima and 2 RTC (tinfoils, 1 escaped tilapia and carp variations).

PS: Two pacus were not so warmly welcomed  - all were murdered (not eaten) within two days (don't know the cultprit)

Very nice outdoor tank, don't think it would survive a Kansas winter...lol

Thanks ^^ yes, some other arrangement woulda been necessary in Kansas.

WOW... Had no idea that tank was so wide. Hope the filter works, and looks like you have plenty of room to add more.

Naw - That's what your first post said . . . your snakeheads are feeders? Does that mean that your fish eat them? They are illegal in the U.S. - It's really awesome to see an outdoor tank, I've never seen one before - didn't know it was possible. I have a pacu right now that is doing quite well although one of my upside down catfish were 'murdered' today and I don't know who the culprit is either...

Nice pics!

I forgot to mention the third 'rescued' gar recently. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171229

Hehehehe an epic tale in itself.

Yes, i am aware about snakeheads and US legality and that lots of people are not happy about. They are common here - normal fish staple meet (hence easy to find feeder fish if your beastie is big enough to eat them). Slower swimmer too - so Ok for my lazy monsters. You'd think that with all the tales of Pacus darting (glass smashing tales) prowness, they would not be caught about by the slow moving take mates
