The biggest gar is close to 90cm i guess. Pima may 70cm ... never measured with a tape. But the tile is 40cm long (for reference). I will get a measuring tape next time i go home
PS: where in Perth did you study? i studied in Perth (Hale/UWA)

yeah, it is quite a nice moster. Much less hyper in the pond than in the aquarium ... the flip side that it is not as friendly. Though, he does come to the glass to check you out, but not all the time (it is not skittish, it just changed from 'puppy' to 'kittie' lol). The two remaining inside the house are still 'puppies' that constantly beg for food ... i wonder if it is because of chemicals ... nah! silvers and jar and green are completly ignore me - my instruction is to feed them now only if they beg ... kinda difficult cos pimas are always begging. I give it two more months and i will move the remaining pimas outdoor <fingers crossed>
Funny thing is pima is almost two years younger ... the growth has been phenomenal ^^ i got pima around Feb/Mar this year. Gar was obtained during last world cup - not as impressive growth as i thought it would be. It sorta slowed down.

Where do you live that you could do an outdoor set-up like that?! I think that is really creative and cool! What all do you have in the tank - just snakeheads?
