Alright. Well. I installed the long window last night, which went off almost without a hitch. Some silicone scraping still needs doing, and then I'll put some nice little fillet seals on the outside of the window. The GF took the camera with her on her business trip by mistake, so no pics till tomorrow.

My wagon is out of comission, with some kind of ignition problem I just can't be arsed to fix right now, so my only option for moving the 6x2 foot pane of glass to the water jet cutting place is my 1980 2 door malibu with about 2 inches of ground clearance and about 500 hp... not your ideal vehicle for this to say the least. Anyways, the glass has been kicking around my shop for 6 months unscathed. I grunted and heaved the glass into the passenger seat and determined that wouldn't work, cuz the door wouldn't close (distance from console to door < 2 feet). I got the glass back into the shop, and bang! hit the corner on the floor and broke off a 2x2 triangle. @#$%@%.... but wait... back to the car, and now I can get it into the passenger seat, and there's just enough untouched glass to cut my 44in pane for the short side. Talk about lucky break.

Anyways, to the water cutter tomorrow, and hopefully I can get the short pane installed this weekend and begin filling this thing up for a leak test.

I also discovered a low cost, lightweight acrylic glazing material that will not sag that I plan on using for the lids. google "Deglass" or "Deglas" I forget how it's spelled. It's a dual skin transparent material for greenhouses and sundecks.

Got the glass cut just now at the waterjet place. Game on!

GF gets back from calgary with the camera this evening too, so I can take pictures. I'll probably have to spend time with her though cuz she's been gone for 3 days.

the only thing that would stop you would be what? your girlfriend?

The only git'r'done that'll likely be on her agenda this evening is watching 7 episodes of "John & Kate Plus 8"... so maybe I will get away with a smidge of garage time ;) Especially if I make her a jug of rum & coke before I go out
