O, ok, it's a link to another forum, I hope that is OK with the mods.meatus;3123371; said:Wondering if you could still post this or if you're just still tipsy. Very curious!
Also great job and all your projects!

Thanks very much! I actually started looking back to find the pic and see who was on the left, but then recalled that they NEVER change positions. *shake* part of the reason they need this new tank. Anyways he's a C. Apurenesis. He's really quite aggressive and fearless when it comes to food. I keep him well fed to keep the squabbles down. Behaves a bit like a small RTC.rnocera;3129590; said:This build is absolutely amazing. I don't know how I haven't read it up until now, but I am subscribed and will be following from now on! Great job, and I can't wait to see it up and running.
What's the cat to the left in the pic?
Well at some point I had no fiberglassing experience either... it's really not hard, just kind of finicky and time consuming. You shouldn't have a problem... and if you really have doubts, you can leave the fiberglass out, you just might want to use a more rigid tank construction if you forego the reinforced corners.blacksnow;3131044; said:My question is to someone like me with no fiberglassing experience. Is doing something like this possible?
Well it's essentially the same construction as is used in a boat, only inside out, and boats last a long time, like a few decades or more if maintained properly. My other tank is made with epoxy as a sealant, and no fiberglass, just short strand filler in the sharp corners. It's been running for a couple of years now. One of the oak board warped from the humidity (I didn't seal it properly) but other than that it's still 100%.blacksnow;3131044; said:Also what's the life expectancy of a tank like this? Is your other plywood tank built the same way? How long has it been going?
Questions give me an excuse to climb up on a soapbox, so no problemblacksnow;3131044; said:Sorry for all the questions, just can't wait to get my own DIY tank going =]
