FISHING SEASON 2K10!!!!!!

Fish landed-I-2/Dennis-1

Went back to "Farrington" hoping to mimick Fridays results. The bass bite was off all day but the northerns & CP's were out in and about this morning. The day begun at 7am and at 7:49 a monster 10.0 northern straight killed Dennis's spinny right beside the boat!!! The next piece of action came about a hour later in the form of another northern scaring the crap out me and getting off before I could swing him in the boat :irked:. After that the I banged a decent CP and a two pound bass. From there only thing popping was two little bass that were able to jump off.

Super low number but my boy got his first northern!!

Fished aboard the Brooklyn VI out of Sheepshead Bay, NY, and was out for 8 hours. Fishing was really slow. All I caught was a juvenile Winter Skate, which surprisingly hit a 5oz diamond jig 10 feet off the bottom. Some other people on the boat caught Bluefish and Striped Bass, and even a False Albacore. The pool winner was a 40"+ Striped Bass. Sad to see such a great fish meet its end, but still amazing to see. In the captain's own words, fishing "sucked". We did some Bird chasing, but never managed to settle into a good group of fish. We also tried drifting deadbaits in 115 feet of water, 15 miles offshore, which also proved fruitless, other than the few people that managed to pick up some Black Seabass. The mates and deckhands were cool though, they let me dissect the stomachs of the fish they fillet, and I found some cool stuff.

Here are a few pics from this season. I am the one in the red hat. (from the first picture)

Ok today was my 50Th Birthday, so there wasn't much time too fish and while the goal was to catch 50 Bass in what little time we had. We only where able to land 43 Bass but some great LMB did we catch. In just over 2.5 hrs we caught 43 Bass on either rubber worms or Chugg Saltwater Poppers. Plus the best was a 5.5 pounder that hit a much smaller Bass while I was reeling in and got hooked. That's correct as you can see in two of the pics a small Bass that I hook ( it was the fish with the hook, hooked through it's lip and then stuck in the throat of the much larger Bass :screwy:.

It's Florida, dude the Lakes here are loaded with Bass. Bass here breed twice a year, and they rarely ever hibrenate. There's tons of food in the water for them too feed upon, including there own.

In NY/NJ fishing means trying to catch a fish any fish, in FLorida fishing meaning catching your targetted fish most of the times. Sometimes you don't get what you want but, thats ok there always tomorrow.

Thanx for the B-Day wish.
