Played hooky from work ~ fished on my canoe and had a blast. 1-lg mouth(baby-6"),1 nice (palm sized) bluegill,and 5 nice sized pickerel. Just as the bite started to pick up again, the wife called and as I reached over for the phone I rocked the canoe-took in a bucket full of water,almost fell off and got drenched. Leave it up to the wife to ruin the good fishing day. Wound up getting cold and windy and packed it up and went home. Still a great day! Took pictures and will upload tomorrow.

Today was a excellent one in my book. The bite was steady all day cause the CP's were out in full force and the bass did their usual morning and afternoon thing.
I broke the ice in the first 15. Then Dennis banged a bass on a crank bait and followed right up with his second, which was a bluegill(funny). I caught a mix of bass and CP's pretty much all day long. The biggest fish landed today was a 2.15 that did the honors of not only being the 15th fish of the day but also the first fish I ever caught on a "Money minnow"!!
It was a good day!!!

after a 16 hour car trip, i am home from tennesee. We went to reelfoot lake this past week for some crappie fishy. But the crappie fishing was crappy. I managed to catch a few nice ones in the first few days but got bored since the bite was slow. We tried a few new spots near the cabin and acutally ran into some bowfin (3-6lbs) and some monster bluegill (8-9.5"). Also my fishing partner with his first bass of the season the day before we left and mine came from tennesee. We also managed to snag a softshell turtle too. whoops.
Then the real fun began. They have a monster sized problem with asian carp there. Theyve turned it into a sport by ripping a weighted treble hook through the water and "snagging" them. There was so many there, i was able to snag too, with the big one at 17lbs though they get wayyy bigger.

Went down to my "super secret fishing spot" and caught a good amount of tench and carp. In about 5 hours we caught:
24 Tench (averaging 5bs)
2 Carp (1x 7lb, 1x 15lb)
10+ Panfish (between 3-9 inches)
