I never caught anything on a chatter bait but I seen a dude killing the bass in a night fishing tourney. He said it wasnt the chatter bait that was the most important but the most important part was what he was using as a trailor. I tried and tried but he wouldn't show or tell me what it was. I got 5 that night and he said he landed 17. I don't know about 17 but I was very close to his boat for awhile and I seen him pull in seven while I was there.

Why doesn't Florida count it was just as cold in Florida as anywhere else, this and last week that is if you consider Floridas normal temp for this time of year. I will post the pics for the Bass we caught on 1-06-2010 tomorrow.

Took my boys fishing yesterday on January 6th to the beach in Santa Monica. Stayed for a total of 4 hours and caught 5 striped surf perch. I had 1 huge bite (probably a leopard shark the way it was acting) and the fish walked me about 75 yards up the beach and then headed straight out. The whole time I was reeling and my drag was screaming. After it took a little over 100 yards of line my 8# mono leader failed at the knot and the fish was gone.

It's not cold unless you have to drill through ice to get to open water ( LOL )
