Dennis, Kyle and I went to Dicks Sporting goods and then we stoped at the NJ D&R canal to start the day. Today we all just took are baitcasters out to get some practice in. I have casting down but I loss alot of my aiming ablitly and thats a very important part when fishing with lures. Once I could get a few good cast in, I was able to land to small ones.

"Rosedale" is where we wanted to end the day. It was hot and slow, so I had to switch up alittle and pull out the 6" senko. I plucked one off fishing the algae build up along the shoreline, twitching the senko in a snake like action. The next two fish came on the buzzy(My first baitcatser/buzzy fish,CRAZY)!! Also a stupid bull frog throught the buzzy looked good enoungh to eat one time that I was stuck in the grass along the shoreline. I dont touch frogs so Dennis took it off, trailor hook and alll!!!

SLow day but I had a decent time!!!!

A client of mine yesterday said to me when we were talking about my trip to Florida and the Bass fishing that I did, that he has a pond on his farm that is just full of Big Bass. I said what's Big in your book, well they went in at 2 to 4 maybe 5 pounds and up, yeah there some smaller ones in there too, they been breeding in there for at least the last 8~10yrs, and Bass taste isn't very good. So since the pond is coldwater spring fed I wanna get rid of all the Bass and then have Trout put in. Your kidding right?, I say, nope I've been wanted to do this for years soon we'll retire up there and I would prefer less to no Bass in the pond.

"Now you can't just come up and catch and kill the Bass, my wife won't like that but I mean if you gonna eat them fine but if not I have a friend that has a big lake on his property you can take them over there and release them, he says". Wheres this farm of yours I say, in the Catskills he replies.

Listen I say how did the Bass get in your pond then, well some came by ducks and other water fowl others a friend who loves fishing and went out and caught a mess of Bass every few weeks for a summer an a half, and other fish, this is going way back like ten yrs ago, and dumped them all in our pond - he says. A friend caught them and put them in your pond, yeah, caught Bass an brought them over to the pond in a cooler and put them in for us, so there Big real Big by now - I mean when he put them in they where 2~3 and 4 pounds ten yrs ago and I hate fishing for them because they don't taste very good.

Any the conversation went on and on I got the address and direction to the lake and was also promised private access to the lake that was to be used for release. (Private access because people stop along a one side of the lake that faces a public road). No problem I say, I'll get a few Bass eating friends and fishermen together and remove whatever you don't want, and what they can't eat we'll relocate for you.

I wanna hit these ponds and lakes, maybe a Florida size Monster in one of them or a State record, you never know. Private access to private waters can be awsome.

Got off work and met up "D" at "Rosaedale". By the time I got there he had already landed one and yes he counted it. I said ok you have a one fish lead and then got to work. I had the buzzy on at first but I switched up to the spinny. I had alittle one on but it got off, so on my next cast I land a decent two pounder that hit it soon as I was pulling the spinny out of the water. The T-storm was rolling in but before it got to bad I was able to 3 more!! I left my phone in the car so no pics, but who cares its not like I got a monster or something!

Rained out but it was stilll a decent day of fishing!!

Man I just let my first ever musky get off! We seen it feeding on bait fish out in the middle, I throw a spinny(1/2oz) right over were he was and bam fish on but he spit the hook. It was atleast 40"s!

Saltwater, deep sea/bottom fishing, on the Sea Queen VII, out of Sheepshead bay. Fished about 3 hours, with travel time deducted. The Fluke (Summer Flounder) fishing is en fuego... I caught 8... but they are all shorts. I caught one keeper, which went back anyways. Only one Black Seabass caught on the whole boat, which was kept, at 11" long. I'm really worried that they are being overfished. In the last 2 years, I have only seen one or two that were over a foot. In years prior, it was not unusual to see 6 pounders coming up. Anywho, my arm was hella sore by the end of the day because the only rod I could find is my little freshwater spinner, which has about a 6" handle. Not enough to wedge it under my arm to gain extra leverage in a fight. And you need that extra leverage with Fluke. They fight like heck, and they either turn sideways while being fought to use their flatness like a parachute or they just burry in the sand. Fun trip.
