Thanks for posting a review of pacific! I have been thinking about ordering from them for awhile now but had never really heard anything about them. And I love the chevy!

Dont be jealous quite yet, lets wait till I get him in and acclimated. I am inclined to say that he looks a little better today than yesterday...and he is definitely eating more macro algae, almost constantly grazing on one thing or another. I will hopefully have enough stuff to last him until he starts eating frozen and sheet algae.

No worries, that is what half of this thread was supposed to be about when I started it. Any time I add something new, you will get a little review of the process from here on out. Thanks, I wish I could have gotten a better picture. We will see if I can get one this week, he is pretty shy, for sure the most timid of any tang I have ever had before.

Sweet. Can't wait to see that chevy.

Good write up on the process with Pacific, I did a very short version in mine and this is a much better writeup. I agree that they get the fish and ship em right out, no middle men. Shortest amount of time in stressed transit possible which I really like. Prices are quite good as well. I have talked to the owner pretty extensively and he does at least some of the diving himself. He doesn't seem totally professional(like not telling you he shipped it), but is very friendly and is currently looking for a fish for me to send with my replacement Flame Wrasse. Not a bad place at all imo either.
Thank you. Yes, both Daniel and Kevin responded to a lot of emails of mine, and both seemed friendly.

Like I said before, communicating across that many time zones even with email can be hectic.

I feel you on that time zone thing, we have had many convos that have taken multiple days.

Well...since I am bored...I will now start working on the coral final stocking list.

Things that are in the tank now:

Green slimer acro
Pink millepora
Pink lemonade acro
2 unknown sps...going to be sold
appleberry danae (going to be sold)
watermelon chalice
hollywood stunner chalice (looks like it has been dying for like four weeks...who knows if it will recover)
Pink/green torch
large green closed brain
small orange plate
nuclear green candy cane
green/red blasto
purple/green rhodactis mushrooms (going to be sold)
starburst polyps
red cap monti (again, looks like it is dying)
green cap monti (dead somewhere on the bottom)
leather coral

I think that I will replace the red monti if mine doesnt start to color up again soon.

Things I want to add:

Strawberry fields monti (to replace green)
purple monti (going to attempt to attach this to the back wall, let me know if you have ideas how
Monti spongeodes
Lakers scroll coral

red milli
blue milli
purple slimmer
oregon tort
purple stylophora

Scoly
Open brain
two chalices (No idea...want to stay away from green, no watermelons...open to suggestions)
two acans (black hole suns will be one, other yet to be determined)

So there it is, lets hear some discussion on this!

If you see anything from my list of "going to sell things" let me know, maybe we can whip you up a frag pack. :D

Exactly...the scroll, blue milli, red milli, and purple slimer I can all get through him.

There are other things like some high end zoas and palythoa that I might add as they become available to me as well.

Right now I am looking at a frag pack that would have blue hornets, strawberry milli, oregon tort...and some others. All $20 or less, just waiting to see what shipping will be.

Let me know when you want to go down there. I might be able to next weekend.

Hey guys here are some before and after testing results from today!

Before:

Phos: 0 - 0.25
Nitrate: 10-20 Higher range

After:

Did not test for phos as there was no way to tell if it went lower.
Nitrate: 10-20 lower range.

Tomorrow I will be adding 0.2ml of vodka in the AM, and 0.2ml of vodka in the PM.
Will continue this daily for the first week...and then do some repeat testing.
