you where more than likes hooked up with old school patch cables or VGA cable. while your TV supports those they do not take advantage of the HD of your TV, you might be finding the sound is also better, going to past what a HDMI is,

Yep,had the old regular white cable wire.I knew a little about the use of HDMI cables such as connecting other devices to the television but was obviously unaware of it's ability to enhance audio and viewing quality.Thanks for explaining it all.
