Despite being 'massively inbred' the sen really retains a nice look. With endli you see some frog eyes and to me weird shape heads. My cb teugelsi even looks strange with a funny head and slightly shorter than normal body. Over all the major issues with the sen are pretty well controlled as to the look but seems to really have effected overall size of the fish.
I'll always have a special place in my heart for these guys, as they were the species that made me fall in love with bichers in general. Tough to beat their level of activity and spunk. I just wish I could find some large enough to not get eaten in my tank.

My first sen came from a pet smart. I had him 7 years before he pulled a Houdini and bailed out the back of my tank... I found him to late. Dried up he was 12 inches. I had baught 2 when I got him the other stayed small and became a snack to my dempsy. ( not intentionaly they shared a tank). I also have an albino sen it is around 6 inches and staying that way as it is 8 or so years old now.
When my big guy died I was heartbroken so I got 2 more babys from petsmart (they were on sale for $3 why not) This was about 18 months ago. Again one stayed small but he survived he is around 8 inches now. The other is around 10 inches and realy fat.
I get sens because I am on a budget I got 5 kids to feed and in the end fish are a hobby. ( I would love a del but they are pricey here)
I fell in love with my first sen watching him hunt ( back then I fed live) he would perch in plants and let the water move him like a part of the plant Or do this little mid water levitation looking maneuver where his front would stop and he would let his tail just float beneath him.(that stopped when he got big)
All 3 of my current ones are crazy active they love to much their earthworms and blood worms as well as the occasional baby pleco(bn's breed like rats). Also at their size my 125g is lots of room to swim.

Being bit of a fish snob I find that Sens are 'boring' because there colours are not as interesting as other polypterus. But in saying that I still thoroughly enjoy keeping my sens because I have found they more active and interactive then other poly's. In fact the only poly I got to hand feed was my sen.
