It been on display in Shedd aquarium in Chicago, Illinois for quite a while now. The owner is a scientist working with the Aquarium's conservation. He moved a lot of his fish into the Aquarium's display tanks when he started working there.
BTW, it is a Gator X spotted hybrid.

main guess is florida. A better pic would help but they kinda look like the marble gar or pike characin

They look a lot like the juvenile spotted gars I raised but I'm guessing florida as well.
