No, it's not a tropical gar or any other Atractosteus gar. It's probably just a Florida gar.

That narrows it down to one of three species then: longnose gar, shortnose gar, & spotted gar.

In that case, I'd say that it's probably a longnose gar.

SIDDO - if that large bass is in the same tank, your gar probably will be eaten soon, if not already.

The bass is just really close to the glass lol he's only 2" and the gar is 4" . You're right though he does look a lot bigger

They're still not a good combination by any means; same goes for the sunfish.
