Personally I like certain hybrids but unless you know the parent lineage (more than one generation, potentially multiples) a reference ID thread is really nothing but a picture gallery. I know of at least one of those started by DW quite a while back. And the high end parental lineage is never given up or not really known.

I think I remember this thread from a while back. I thought he was putting together pictures for a future project for himself and it ended at that. To me it seems like a neat idea. There are several members on here that have and breed hybrids who would probably jump in. I am no expert but have learned a lot from one local person who is from Thailand. This person is also the individual who is helping me bring in my future breeding group this month. Fingers crossed this shipment goes smoothly. 30 hours travel time is nerve racking.

Yeah the last few rays just made it. There was even one of them with their back out of the water. They came from Thailand.

I don't think any hybrid picture thread is worth using as a ID thread to show different hybrids yes but not to ID

Hybrids all turn out so different
Even with top grade pure blood adults its no sure thing the pups will turn out that way

Back to breeding dogs again if breeding 2 show winning dogs made sure you would get show winning pups everyone would have show winning pups

My thing with pricing is that Is two normal Leos breed and they have 4 pups, 3 look like normal leos and one looks like a black diamond I can see asking a little more for that one special ray but in no means should it be priced high above the others because its just an odd ball its not the norm at all. It does not have the true blood and probably will not produce more rays like itself. That is one thing I think about when I am looking at rays, seeing the parents sure is nice, but not always is possible.

I priced all my pups from each litter the same first come first served

So get better looking pups if they are fast

But things change with age I call it the spread as even the nicest bd may look rubbish once the spots spead as the disk grows

We see loads of stunning looking bd pups but how many 24" disk bd do we see not many unless they get thousand island

That would be interesting to see.pup vs adult pics on the real spendy pups. See if the money paid as a pup is maintained in looks as adults.

I am 100% agree with you on this as hybrid will never turn out the same and for every liter is different as well. People need to know ray is not like car or other real stuff as each one is different and I can see why people sell one ray more then other even though they are the same parent but that is how they are and I am not against that. As for me I sell them the same price and it will be first come first serve as well.

It is still possible. Black hybrids are a little more difficult then the browns but it can be done. Yes every ray is going to look different as far as spotting goes. Give me some time and I will put a thread together.

Not all bd get thousand island the ones that do look top grade the ounces that don't look average

You see lots of people buying stunning looking Asian aros and bd for high $$$$ in the UK only to sell them one year down the line as they didn't reach there expectations
